My Background
Hey there! I am an LPC-Associate supervised by David Huffman, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S.
I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. I went to the University of Arkansas (woo pig), where I majored in psychology with a minor in human development and family science. Following my time at the U of A, I attended the University of North Texas (go mean green) where I earned my masters degree in counseling.
My experience
In your sessions, I aim to create a safe space and allow you to process your current and past experiences. I believe it is important to look at where we come from, where we are now and where we hope to go. I aim to address generational cycles of trauma. I completed my internship at Denton County Friends of the Family as a child and adolescent counselor. During my internship, I worked closely with families impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. Additionally, I facilitated three different groups at the agency.
What makes me different
The girls who get it get it & the girls who don’t don’t.
I am a girl who gets it.
I became a therapist because life is hard. I learned early on that people just need someone to listen, to hear their stories. I am not here to give you advice, and I know that is frustrating, BUT I will give you support, validation and a space for you to process this thing called life. I will challenge you from time to time but to grow we have to be uncomfortable, we have to push ourselves. I will not shy away, you are not too much, I will hold space for you.
